    The Question

I am designing a routine right now, and was wondering what everyone thought about placing different excercises in between.. well different excercises.

For instance, on a bicep and chest day, would it be smart to do all chest work and then all bicep work, or do perhaps chest excercise 1 and 2 followed by bicep excercise 1, and then so on...

I guess if you supersetted unrelated muscles that you would be able to finish faster. I don't know of any benifits of that kind of training though. I not sure if this would make a noticable difference or not, but it would produce the oppisite effects of stretching the antagonistic before lifting.

When I was training body parts I always did small, single joint, exercises last and did all my multi joint work first. If I was trainign chest and back or chest and shoulders in the same session I would alternate between lifts (ie..bench, Db overhead press, flyes, side raise).

I went over to irontrybes and asked the same question, and here is one of the responses I got:

IF YOU ARE INTO BODYBUILDING AND NOT POWERLIFTING OR STRONGMAN, MOVE THE INCLINES TO YOUR FIRST CHEST MOVEMENT. THERE ARE TOO MANY YOUNG BB'ERS WITH NO UPPER CHEST DEVELOPEMENT. UPPER CHEST DEVELOPEMENT WILL PUT YOU ON ANOTHER LEVEL.

upper chest? i was told there would be no math.

I do what P says. I always do the compound stuff first, regardless of the body part I work.

Your workouts look good to me. Just out of curiosity, what is the "Glute" exercise? GHRs?
