Hey everyone.. I was at the gym today, doing 2 armed lateral raises with dumbbells, the kind where you have to bend a little bit. Anyways i'm doing 25 lbs in each arm, and at about rep 5 or 6 i feel a pop in my left upper back.. I immediately put the weight back, and now i have this annoying upper back spasm.. It is acting up when lay down, or move in certain ways. Anyone ever have this, and does it sound serious?

Any good remedies, ice or hot?
I believe icing is the method of choice right after an injury. Definitely consider seeing a doctor. People are too reluctant to do so.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
I agree with Juggernaut, you should take it easy for a while. I on the other hand am a dumb ass and keep training. I'm only 26 years old and my back is really messed up, it'll go out on me every once and a while so that I can't walk for a while. When It's my lower back I find that hanging upside down by my ankles helps it feel better. When it's my upper back I hang on to a chin bar and just let my feet hang an inch or so above the ground. After doing either of those for a while I'll take it easy for the rest of the day and by the next day I'm usually fine. I don't suggest doing this though.
