    Baseball Training?

Hey guys. I play baseball which your could prob. already tell and i just got over tendonidous, i am a pitcher and i throw about 84-83 on averege. I think the reason i got tendonidous was because i workout biceps and forearms. Does anyone know anything about baseball training?

saying where the tendon problem is.....well it is pretty much necessary in order to get any feedback....ie shoulder, forearm, tri, bi, ect.

Try switching to dumbell curls instead of barbell IMO.

My brother had that for the same reason, and his arm has never been the same, so I hope it's not very serious in your case. I know that his coach and physical therapist had him doing very specific exercises for it though. One was holding a DB with weight on just one side and just twisting it with your wrist, and things that mainly used very light weights with exercises basically only used in physical therapy. I would just ask my coach and/or go see a therapist if I were you. Good luck.

If you can throw a baseball 84 mph at 15 years old do not do anything to jeopardize your arm. A strenght coach at the college or pro level will help you when you get there.

Why not have big arms and pitch? I would think big is fine as long as you keep flexible. I've seen some HUGE guys that are more flexible than me.

nah man, u dont want to get big arms and pitch, chance for injury goes through the roof, keep your arms lean, if u throw in the 80s at 15 ull be making alot of money in the near future anyways. dont fuck it up

And i was wondering for the flexiblity how would i be really fleaxible?

Drop the Knuckle ball it is shit pitch and will only prevent you from improving on your fastball. It may be part of the problem with the Tendonitis. Glad to see you aren't throwing any Curveballs.

Do you do any long toss?

I have never seen a pitcher with big arms. Flexibility and speed are more important for pitching.

Stretch. All the crap you hear about being too bulky and unable to move is just that - crap. It's definitely not true. The only way you're going to get like that is if you gain some incredible size, which you wouldn't with your routine anyways. Like I said, as long as you stretch adequately, you won't have a problem. My legs are easily a few inches bigger each than they were when I started, and I've grown pretty much everywhere, but I can touch the floor with my legs straight pretty easily - it's all about stretching.

If you can't touch your toes, then start trying. It really only takes about five minutes a day to stretch, but I'd guess that a very high percentage of workout-related injuries could be avoided altogether with increased flexibility. There are tons of different stretches you can do, and all of them can help in some way.
