All I posted were pictures of my arm and legs. My upper body is pretty terrible otherwise, but thanks for the feedback.

People think that the BBs look that their contest shape for weeks....WRONG. You don't pull water out until 48-36 hours before stage time. Calipers, electricity, bod pod, etc, I don't consider any of these consistant or accurate. This weekend I had two body fat checks by calipers. One had me at 24% the other had me at 16%. Go figure
I have to go by looks. There needs to be a chart one can use by looks. For instance.
Pinch an inch on your forehead= 50%
Love handles dissapear at 15-17%.
You can see 6 pac flexed at 10-12.
You can see 6 pac relaxed 10% and lower.
You die at 1% because your skeleton falls out of your skin.

Easy enough.

Well they do have accurate ways of measuring body fat, the problem is that the more accurate the technique, the more expensive it is and the less often it is done.

The problem w/ that is some people store fat in different areas...I never store fat in my midsection. I have had relaxed six pack my whole life, very vascular in my arms, chest, and delts....but my fat is in my glutes and lower back.

I suppose a chart could still be made for different body types and tendencies to store fat in certain places, etc. It probably would be very useful for a good chunk of the people, so long as they realize that it's not going to be totally accurate for the vast majority of them.

that is why calipers are good, you can take a 5 point reading and get an average

i'm 13% as of this morning, people tell me i look lower though, i use them electronic scales and although i've heard they are a poor method of measurement i find them accurate in terms of tracking my progress

Oh, quite. However, I, for one, would prefer something less... shall we say... invasive...? Hydrostatic weighing is extremely accurate as far as I know, or at least it's the most accurate way for one who is alive...

I'm not even 7% and I have less bodyfat that cowpimp. That's what I'm basing it on.

I request that everyone stop arguing about my body fat percentage. I could care less. I'm at a healthy and attractive body fat percentage in my opinion; let's leave it at that.

Right, so if you do it yourself for free, it's probably less accurate than paying a professional. Paying a professional is therefore more accurate and more expensive, meaning you will most likely not go to a professional as often as you would use one yourself. I'm buying into nothing - hydrostatic weighing is the most accurate measurement, period.

There is some new method that is supposed to rival, and possibly even surpass, the accuracy of hydrostatic weighing. I forget the name, but it involves being analyzed by a machine that much resembles the equipment used for a CT scan. I'm going to try and find the article in which I read about it.

i'm really starting to hate bodyfat %s. seems like there are always people walking around (or posting pics) where they look pretty good but not CRAZY lean and then saying they're at 4.8% bodyfat.

by the way - not talking about anyone who has posted in this thread. it's been totally sane but you all know what i mean.
