you obviously need to strengthen your lower back aside from doing squats....first off dont squat heavy till your joints/muscles can handle it or else you'll end up injured...keep the volume high and the intensity lower-moderate till you build up strength

invest your time in learning good mornings, deadlifts, hyperextensions

all of which will strengthen your lower back, hamstrings, butt all muscles necessary in the squat...

    Squat: 5x5: 295lbs
    Bench: 1x4: 275
    Dead: 1x1: 475

I don't usually experience that for squats. Deadlifts definitely do it to my lower back though. Well, I don't agree with the term "tight," but I think I know what you mean.

have someone watch your form next time you do them! you may be bending your back at the bottom of the squat! if you are, thats what hammering your lower back!

keep your legs wider then shoulder width, your not an olympic lifter, squats aren't meant to primarily target quads!

push your butt back and almost touch your quads with your stomach and look straight forward or up slightly, driving your neck into your back

push straight up through your feet in an explosive yet controlled manner

    watch some powerlifters squat...

    Squat: 5x5: 295lbs

    Dead: 1x1: 475

    I agree completely.

Either it's something with your form or your lower back simply isn't strong enough to bear the load. You could try doing different types of squats as well. For example, I now do front squats (used to do ATG back squats) and I feel it more in my legs with these using about 50 pounds less. I also think they're better for overall strengthening of the legs and body.
