I think 15 minutes is totally reasonable. I really doubt it will noticeably affect your results. If you want to make absolutely sure there is no negative effect, then you could always have a liquid shake that you can throw down in between the weight training and swimming. However, like I said, I highly doubt it will make an appreciable difference.

best to do the cardio first thing when you wake up on an empty stomach. eat througout the day and do your weights in the evening. of course you have to get you programs and diet down, so read the stickes in the triaing and diet section, and go from there.

I don't think it's best to do cardio first thing in the morning. It is certainly effective, but this risk of losing LBM is too high if you are capable of achieving your desired results without resorting to this method.

The anabolic window so to speak, is longer than 15 minutes.

I agree....just do not do intense cardio....when cardio is first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, your intensity level doesn't need to be high. This is what all the pros do...at a walking speed.

Why would LBM be impervious to breakdown for energy? It is always a risk in a caloric deficit. However, performing strenuous activity while in a fasted, and therefore catabolic, state increases that risk further.

I mean no significant loss, you might lose a little, but if fat loss is your goal then go for it, your bound to lose way more fat then lbm as long as your diet is good and you have a good weight program. then just perform a cleaner bulk.

Fair enough, but why pose the additional risk if it is unecessary to achieve your goals? Also, if you truly must do cardio in a fasted state to get that last bit of fat off you, then it would be a much better idea to at least ingest some protein or branch chain amino acids before you jog. You should still benefit greatly as it won't affect blood sugar levels, but it will promote the retention of your muscle mass.
