I'd see a doctor. They will probably do an EKG to see if you have had any damage to the heart. Not something to ignore. Do you have hypertension or cholesterol issues?

    Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.

Don't worry about it - assuming you're male, it's extremely unlikely that you have it.

Yeah i get these too. I had them really bad at one time and I did get checked out by a cardiologiest who found nothing wrong. So I have no idea why I have them. Since I've gotten in better shape they have gone away almost completely. However they seem to happen if I'm dehydrated/tired/hungry or if I start doing something really fast and I don't warmup. They can also happen if I have an anxiety attack.

yer i think they all contribute to it - lack of sleep, drinking, being too hot etc so i'll take care before doing sports/lifting and do more cardio through the week as i wasnt doing any before coz i was trying to gain weight.

Do you drink large amounts of coffee, tea, soda? Do you take any supplements with ephedra?

My heart only goes fast under normal circumstances, anxiety or while doing cardio.

But I do remember one time when it went really fast for a while, like a few seconds and went back to normal. One of the greatest sensations ever. I would pay to have one of those again.

Yeah, I had a couple today at Jiu Jitsu practice, and I rarely ever have any at pratice. However, today I noticed the temperature was around 82 degrees, and I did not warm up, and I was getting hot as hell in my GI. Plus I think I was dehydrated. I mean I can do very intense sets of Squats and have none. Sometimes I think its physcosomatic.
