3 Main Leg Exercises that I should do?

    Alrighty,

If you want you can read my journal as to why I cant really do a full leg workout. Anyways, what are the most compound leg exercises that I can do that arent machines?

I am doing squats now, but would like to squats, plus 2 other leg exericises that hit as many muscles as possible with the most force lol. I'd like do do squats, standing calf raises, and one other one. Or whatever you guys would recommend.

Sparknotes: what 3 exercises give me the best bang for my buck for legs? (Squats, ?, ?)

    Quads:
    Back or front squats
Leg presses (high on the plate hits my hams too)
    Lunges

    Hams:
    SLDL (knees bent)
    Leg curls
I will sometimes do GMs in place of a truer ham movement

    Calves:
Standing and seated calf raises, I dont do donkeys or anything else

Those are my favorites, I mix and match as I feel depending on the day. For the most part I dont like back squats at all, I do fronts nowdays.

For quad-centric movements, I would pretty much stick to squat variations.

For hamstring-centric movements, I like deadlift variations, including a good ol' standard deadlift. Good mornings also rape the entire posterior chain.

If you want 3 movements, this would be my leg workout:

    Back Squats or Olympic Squats
    Deadlifts or SLDLs
    Unilateral Squats or Front Squats

It might be a good idea to throw in a set or two of hamstring curls or glute ham raises to get some knee flexion action as well, but it's not fully necessary.

Yes I am doing deadlifts. So dead lifts, squat variations, and goodmornings/raises.

Cool, pretty much stuff that I have done already!

With front squats, can you do about the same amount of weight that you can do with "regular squats"? or what? Just want to have a general idea when I go to load up.

    Thanks for the help guys.

When you warm up you will make a better guess as to what you can do, but no, people dont front squat what they back squat unless they are built in some freaky manner.

I'd add weighted step ups on a bench to that.
