    Flat Dumbell Press

See what you guy's think about these. I have been doing flat, incline, decline barbell work for chest the last prob. 2 months and still have been seeing gains every week and have not hit a platue yet but decided tonight to do a "all dumbell" chest workout. I really liked it and felt really strong. Figured it would be good to see too because I have been second guessing my left side strength and I proved to myself that it is up to par and equally as strong as left or right reached failure at the the same points. Do you think I should stay with dumbell work on chest days for a few weeks and see if it helps my flat or go back to flat next week and just throw in some dumbell work every now and then? I am leaning towards trying it for a few weeks b/c it felt really good and strong and think it will help build some stregth on chest days. BTW, I am mainly focusing on powerlifting and bench press for a up-coming contest in March. Later Nate

I think it's important to change things up a bit now and then, but if you're still making gains I'd stick with what you'e doing.

you need to bb bench press then. the technique used for bb benching is not even close to that when using db's
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

If it works don't change it. Sooner or later you'll hit a sticking point and then that's a good time to change exercises. Then when you hit a sticking point at the new exercises go back to the originals and blow them old numbers away

I agree. While the DBs are perhaps a better test of strength than the BB when it comes to benching, the technique is very different and must be practiced to achieve near-perfect results.
Push yourself. Enjoy yourself. Be yourself.
