    5 x 5 and cardio

    Hi ,

I have just started a 5 x 5 routine. My aim is to lose fat and gain strength. Can I do this without cardio? If not when would be the best time to do it? at the end of the weight seeison or as a seperate seesion?

you're gonna find it difficult to lose fat and gain strength at the same time. focus on one or the other to start.

cardio has it's benefits, why not add 1 HIIT and 1 interval session in a week or something of the like. it'll work in your favor regarding fat loss. separate sessions.

HIIT is a form of interval training, just a much higher level of intensity. 400m sprint would be more interval-like while HIIT would be full out ie. 30:60 (sprint:rest).
