Post How important is lower back exercises?

I don't do deadlifts because I always end up with lower back pain, I do hyperextensions sometimes and goodmornings sometimes but both are boring. Just how important are lower back exercises?

I would say lower back exercises are important in regards to preventing injuries and increasing overall strength.Deadlifts, good mornings, back extensions and reverse hypers are all good lower back exercises.

The only work my lower back gets is from squats and rows.

Have you tried doing a few good hard sets of ab work before your deadlifts? Helps me to keep my abs tight and take some of the stress off my lower back when doing deads. Also a good technique to use before squats.
