Weight Loss And Building up at the same time

Hi everyone... i was wondering is builing your muscles up and weight loss is possible to do at the same time...

I've lost about 8 stone in the past.. but sorta stopped doing this stuff and now have put about 2 stone back on..

So i want to build my upper arms and chest up mainly... but loss weight at the same time..

I'm pretty big in to joggin.. but only at a stop pace.. about 6miles in an hour

Am i right in think i need to do intress cardio such as full out running.. to lose weight and then just my normal bench and weights.. would that work ??

    anyone else done this before..

    thanks

it is not possible to bulk and lean out at the same time. there are three exceptions to this rule. it is possible to build muscle and lean out if:

    A. you're new to lifting + diet
    B. you're new to heavy lifting + diet
    C. you're on gear + diet

looks like i'm jogging, gettin lean 1st then.. and then building up.... I'm 6ft and normal build... if i were to get to 12 stone.. which is pretty skinny for me... and then build up.... would that be better then be building up from the 13.5stone (little belly) i am now...

what i'm asking really, is it wore, losing weight and get to a nearly ripped state, just to build up again.. ?

depends of if you're comfortable getting leaner/smaller. is there a reason you wouldn't wanna bulk first?

and when you say "looks like your jogging"...you don't mean discontinue weight training to lean out do you? you need that regardless.

well i thought i'd get lean and thin and then build/bulk up from there.... or is there no point

as an end result i want to be bulked up and well build

but if i don't lose up and firm up before building up, would i not just look fat.

so i was thinking, gettin thin/toned and then building up was the way to go

    i'm not sure..

Lose this idea. Create the desire to build up your entire body, not just the muscles that you see in the mirror.

    I disagree.

If your diet is 100% perfect... then I think it can be done. I think I read something that said you can still gain LBM in a sub caloric state.

anything is possible but it'll be short lived and you'll end up spinning your wheels relatively quickly.

Plus, if he's inexperienced enough to have to ask the broad questions then he doesn't know enough about nutrition, exercise, or his own body to pull it off.

By all means continue with cardio. I'd keep it at 2-4 days a week and just a brisk walk for 45 min's. You need to take a trip to the diet and nutrition section and post your diet. You'll get a lot of help there.

Also you said arms and chest mainly. You need to work the whole body. What your talking about is like getting an oil change without replacing the filter. Bad choice. Like an oil filter which is part of the complete oil change, so is training the Shoulders, Back and Legs

If you're going to do cardio, try HIIT.
