    getting over injury

injured hamstring quite a few weeks back and it has been feeling ok last fortnight but after playing football its started to hurt again- nothing near as bad but while sprinting it was a little painfull and its been sore in the days after football. im due to workout lower body tonight but as i want to play football next thursday i dont know what to do?

is it better to lay off the lower body weights sessions or should i stick to that but give football a miss for another couple of weeks? is light running a good idea or complete rest? its sore but i think i could play football without causing it much damage but then again i dont know if thats going to weaken it or not?

do i need to 'work it' to strengthen it or will it do more harm than good?

    thanks

I would do daily light stretching and bike for a while. I would take another week off from football and hamstring related exercises if you still have pain. I couldn't play football half speed....You'll want to go all out and potentially do more damage if you play. Ice and take some Ibu after you bike.

You'll be back on the field in no time.

cheers, by football i mean soccer (i live in uk- we call it football over here)! i dont like playing at half pace but its possible! i tend to find it hard not to get stuck in though so its a bit of a pain. thanks for the advice, ill get some stretching in and keep off the weights for another week or two. might try some light jogging and football later in the week as i can always go in goal if it starts hurting (its only 5 a side)! not mega serious!

    thanks again!
