I've swung a hammer or two in my time. So i'd speculate i'd have a mighty strong hammer strength.

Yes, hammer curls. I'd say they're just about the only functional curls. I used to do them and I liked them. Then I started doing only compound movements. It's not that they're bad, I just don't like wasting my time with anything that isn't compound.

for a powerlifter they are useless, but for bodybuilders they can be usefull

Again, they are the most functional curls IMO. Powerlifting doesn't worry about functional strength...

I've done them before. It's just another variation of the lift, but doesn't make any profound difference in the recruitment of musculature. I'm referring to pressing movement using a hammer grip by the way...

Hammer curls kick ass. I prefer them over normal curls. Although i like doing a mixture in one set. (one hammer curl followed by one normal curl follwed by a hammer curl, etc.. etc...)
    Damn
