I mean, I guess my problem is that I can't afford to go to a gym (time and money), and right now I have some "strength-tech" home gym in my basement.
It seems to suck once you're lifting over 100 pounds because it's a pully system, and it's more of straining your muscles rather than working them, so I can't really imagine anything worse.

What do you think?
What does it cost???? I bet you can join a gym for less
Best thing for a home gym is free weights ( dumbbells and barbells), a bench and a power rack.....
Well there's different versions. It ranges from 800 - 2,300
No doubt the 800 dollar one.
It says it's supposed to emulate free-weights, so you don't have to go to the gym and use them. It also has a 6 week full money back guarentee, with a strength/muscle building guarentee for those 6 weeks. So basically either you see an improvement or you don't, and if you don't you can get a refund.
In that case, would it be worth it? I'm 17 years old, and I don't have time with all my schoolwork and my job to be going to the gym every day. Right now I'm lifting at midnight everynight when I get some free time. It would be ideal to have something at home.
And what's so good about free weights? I'm not doubting you, I'm just curious

Name any Professional athletes that use bow flex?????????
None!!!!
Name Olympic athletes that train with bowflex??????
none!!!!
get the idea?
If you work so much then why cant you afford a gym membership????
Go to a local sports store and check out the free weights and equipment they sell.......then come back here if you still don't know what to get.
Because my priorities aren't buying gym equipment. This is simply to get stronger, however, if I'm gonna drop 800 bucks on a membership, home gym equipment, whatever, it might as well fit my needs.
Money has nothing to do with it. Money management does. I have more important things to spend my money on at this point in my life, namely saving up for college.
And fuck athletes. How many athletes do you know that are good fighters?
I think it's a matter of not trying it, rather than experience. You think because no athlete uses it, it musn't be good. However, how many times do you see a professional athlete train on his own time? He's always got someone with him, coaching him, training him, giving him advice. Of course they want him to dump the money into a gym.
I have used a bowflex. They suck, instead of that money going towards one of the most useless companies in the world, send me the 800 dollars, Ill kick you in the dick, and we can all go on our merry way.

So... talking on the internet is different? Ok whatever. Tell that to the police when they're investigating a murder, and when they trace every connection that person has had, including internet forums
I love how everyone is such a tough ass. Yet, everyone bases fighting ability on size and strength. Interesting... seems to me that you haven't gotten in many fights in your day
Dr. E, you have the link on TOM's thread about bowflex a while back?

coming here and asking about the bowflex is great....but defending it for more than one post is asking for it...
It would be like NASCAR driver coming to a Formula1 race and defend the importance of the right turn
You just open yourself up.
Yet, you keep giving me the stupid laughing smiley. Why? Is your life so god damn important you have to spend it harassing others on a forum? Wake up dude. I'm on here for a week max until I can figure out what I want to do, and it already seems to me that this was a wrong move coming here. Everyone is the same, just as everywhere else.
Big macho tough guys that don't understand the difference between strength and skill.
Ha, like bruce lee would lose to some punk ass bodybuilder. I think not.
