Justin Leonard:Perfectly normal. No one has a set of perfectly symmetrical abs. Although some are more symmetrical than others. You cannot fix the imbalance. It is genetic. The good news is that for you to have discovered this imbalance, you'd have to be pretty lean.
Looks pretty symmetrical to me.
But look who's Mr. Olympia... Ronnie Coleman aka "Mr. Nastiest disgusting crappiest abs on the face of the planet"

Maybe you can lean against the wall making it seem like they are even.
so are you saying that if one genetically gifted, juicehead has symmetrical abs we all should have them?Originally Posted by FishOrCutBait

the shape of a muscle is genetic. training and diet will only effect the size of the muscle(s)Originally Posted by semajgnoy

so even if i do alternate leg raises and twisting crunches for just 1 side.. it wont help?
It'll make your abs have less symmetry with alignment and with size, so you be the judge on whether it will help.

Quit drinking the alcohol as this enlarges the liver giving you the appearence of deformed ab'sOriginally Posted by semajgnoy
Seriously if you look at a lot of the pro's, you'll see there ab's are all over the place. Don't worry about it. Just diet down until you see the ab's and then your own genetics is going to deterime there shape.
There isn't one side to isolate. The rectus abdominus is one muscle. However, you may very well cause in imbalance in other core musculature that has a symmetrical counterpart on the opposing side of the body like the obliques.Originally Posted by semajgnoy
