leg stiffness
i trained my legs with a new program the other day. which included
smith machine deadlifts hack squat wide leg press seated calf raises leg curls leg extensions 12, 10, 8, 6, 12, 10, 8, 6 repetitions on all excercises with 1 min recovery between sets. my legs were pretty stiff straight after, the day after they were more stiff and two days after i could barely walk after 3-4 days they had pretty much recovered. Am i doing too much? or is the pain just part of the process? |

just a bit stiff nothing serious, just a bit more intense and longer lasting than usual probably just because i havent trained my legs for a while.

Although soreness is common, particularly after a leg session, I feel your volume is way too high. There is no need to be doing almost 50 sets in a single session unless it a temporary loading period. I would suggest implementing a deloading period where you either abstain from lifting or come nowhere near failure and cut the volume way way down. When you return, cut out the second wave of the pyramid.
Also, lose the smith deads. Do some real deadlifts. You can't lockout a smith deadlift properly which severely reduces the range of motion for scapular retraction/elevation, somewhat for spinal extension, and the potential to slightly inhibit hip extension. |

Thanks for the feedback. What about recovery between sets, is 1 min ok?
