    Sleep

    Quick question.

How much sleep should i be getting at age 17 working out ?

I currently sleep during the weekdays 10:30pm-6am
    Thats 7hrs 30mins sleep a night. On weekends i get about 10hrs.

Is this enough or should i be allowing more sleep time?

    Thanks

So the regarded body requirement of "9hrs 15mins" a night is a lil over-rated?

Everyone is different, some people need much less sleep then others, When I was a Teenager I used to need 8:30-10hrs sleep or otherwise I wouldn't recover and I'd be pretty slow/miserable most of the day. Now I can sleep 6 hours and I am fine... On average I'd say 8hrs is fine.

Im not sure about the "regarded body requirement". I was told 8 hours a night. I know one friend who can sleep for 12 hours and another friend who sleeps 6 every night exept weekends.

I think you need to be the judge of that. Do you feel tired a lot during the day? If so, you may need more sleep than that. I'm usually pretty good with 7 hours a night myself and maybe a bit more 1 or 2 days a week, or a good nap 1 or 2 days per week.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

On average its about 10:30 because i ahve to get up at 6....I usually get in bed and speak on the phone to my g/f for 45mins...(i guess women just tire us out huh )

Im dead tired when i get up though. Once im up im ok, but the initial wakeup is a lil tiring...
I would like to get more sleep...but hwk restricts it as im pretty much clogged up til i go to bed aside from food breaks.

On the weekends sometimes i dont as much sleep as during the week...but mostly i make up lost hours on the weekend.

Honestly, making up sleep on the weekends is a bad route to take. You really should wake up the same time every single day, no exceptions. The goal is to get your body to know its sleep pattern. Doing things differently on some days disrupts this and it will never learn. You should also use your bed only for sleeping - don't read, listen to music, watch TV, etc. from bed. This will teach your body that your bed is for other things, whereas it is desirable to teach it that the bed is for sleeping. So go to bed and wake up at the same time every single day and night and do nothing except sleep in your bed. If you have to read, get up and sit on a chair (or the floor for that matter).
Push yourself. Enjoy yourself. Be yourself.

I am the same age as you are and i get roughly about 7-8 hours sleep a night when it's a school week, but now that i am on holidays i am now getting around 9-10 hours of sleep a day. But to answer your question i would say that your sleeping patterns look fine.
