Thumbs down Some Guys Never Learn.....

Tuesday, I'm in the gym, and, see this guy struggling on the bench.
Seeing that he's manuvering the weights like a seesaw, I rush over to him,
and, give a spot.

I let him know if he needs a spot, let me know. He proceeds to try the
same set again, not removing any of the weights, with no spot whatsoever.

Again, I rush over and spot him. Again, I say, if you need a spot let me
know.

The next day, I see the same dude using more weights, srtuggling as
usual. However, this time, he can't even get a the full ROM. Dude, can't
even go halfway down. Granted, yesterday, I told him he should go with
less weights for he's only going half way down.

I don't know what he's trying to prove, but he's just making a specitcal
of himself. I just looked at him, and, looked the other way.

Why you may asked?

Because, generally, people tend to acknowledge when someone
automatically spots them, and, offers to give them additional spots when needed, that they are looking out for their best interest. However, this
dude, never said anything, once he seen me the next day.

So, I will leave him alone. Apparently, he knows more than I do.

I tell you, ego is running rampid in this dude. But whats the sense lifting all
that weight, when your chest is flat like an airline runway?

And Squaggleboggin. This was around 10:30 pm. So, he couldn't even say
he was trying to impress the ladies. There's none in the gym at that time.

Then I'm pretty clueless. Maybe he was doing it to say to someone 'Hey I benched 250' and they'd be impressed. I know someone who claims to have benched 240 but who doesn't know the first thing about lifting or proper form. It's possible, sure, but I doubt he's anywhere near that strong anyways. Oh well. To each his/her own...

I talk to no one in the gym, spot only those who ask, and will only pull a bar off a person if they are at about 99% suffocation. I also do not give lifting tips.

This is why I'm an asshole when I workout and ignore everyone. I put my headphones on and do my own thing. If there is someone I know there, and they ask me for help, then I will assist. But other then that, I could care less if someone is doing weight they shouldn't be. Too many people get pissy when you offer, and too many get pissy when you don't, so I just let them all be to suffer their own consequences of their stupidity.

I'm pretty much the same way. I am willing to give tips if someone asks though. Although I generally don't offer them up, there are time when I really want to because I know they're going to hurt themselves one day. People just think they're so goddamned smart because their bodybuilding friend "told them so," so I don't bother.

I agree with Cowpimp. I never give any advice, cause people usually think they know and can do more than me...Not that I wouldn't help someone, but they need to ask.....

Some people need the weight to bonk them on the head b4 they get the message.

( though the teabagging idea...probably has more comedic value )

You don't really need to concern yourself with him. After a few weeks, or perhaps months, of lifting like that, he'll blow out his rotator cuff(s) and you'll never see him again.

I can think of a lot of things a girl can do for fun.
