    quick Q

    roughly wat is ur heart rate wen ur lifting - for example just after doing a set of 8 heavy reps (squats) ???

    yer i have done thanks hence wanting to compare it to other people - mine seemed quite high is y im askin.

    i believe its the amount of time required for your heart rate to return to rest which dictates how in shape you are, aerobically speaking. i'm sure there will be lots of variance, seeing as how some of us are out of (aerobic) shape slobs while others might do cardio consistently and so on.

    what are you trying to figure, if i may ask?

    not realy trying to figure anything - i just didnt think lifting would get your heart rate up that high but i noticed mine was pounding about 160 ish but mebe thats nothing too unusual..

    When I first started, lifting made me huff and puff like no tomorrow. Now I'm hardly drained after my workouts (they're very short and highly intense). The only times I get tired and breathe heavily now are during my circuit days and while I'm still getting used to my new routine.

    I guarantee that during a tough set of squats my heart rate goes up pretty high. I haven't actually measured it, but I can feel my heart pounding after rest-pausing for 2 additional mini-sets.
    The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
