Question problem with arms?

this has been an ongoing thing with me. it started when i took up swimming and has always stayed with me.

i have this kind of popping giddy pain in both arms mid way up the top half of the arm. the popping and pain is in and around the #2 in this picture: http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/TricepsBrachii.html , towards the outside of my arm.

when i was swimming the freestyle stroke would really argravate this. when i brought my arm over for a stroke it would pop at the top of of stroke. when i do weights it happens with exercises that require my arms to be out and up mostly.

recently i wanted to focus on my Pectoralis Minor group so i started doing this exercise: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...sChestDip.html . this one just kills me... same problem.

i asked a few people who are "in the know" about these things and they said it was a joint popping or something. but this isn't a joint. it's mid way up the top half of my arms, no where near any joint.

anyone have a probable diagnosis and maybe a suggestion to help this?

Yeah, I'd also see a doctor, sounds like you may have something pulled or torn?????

update

my doc said it was a my joint slipping. she didn't understand what i was telling her, it's not in the joint. ah well.

i stayed with the bar dips and strengthened that muscle area and the problem went away. my arms have been fine for a few months now, they feel great. i think i was overworking that area to begin with, just took a little training.
