Goal Reached

I was shooting for a bench press of 100 lbs over my weight and I got it today. I did 245 for 1 rep without a spotter, so I may of been able to do 2 but I didn't want to risk it.

Next goal is to gain 20 lbs and be able to bench press 285.

First goal reached...245 at 145 lbs

If I were to guess based on the fact that I haven't been in the gym for 6 months:
Age 24 Weight 145 BF% 9 Bench 165 Arms 15" Squat?

why try and gain weight, your so close might as well keep going for the double BW press.

Nice pressing. Start doing some straight strength training and get that double bodyweight press!

Well that sounds like a good goal to shoot for. I suppose it is only 45 lbs more if I stay the same weight.

Do we have any posters that are 2x their bodyweight.

Did you just recently start working out??? When I first started I was the same age as you are and damn near the same height and weight. Keep the lifting up, you'll find that when your young you move up in weight very easilly. Stick with it, don't be stupid like me and continually quit after a few months.

I'm not saying you will be able to bench twice your body weight in the matter of months, but don't be surprised if you start moving up 10 lbs a week. I wish I could do 2x my body weight. It's good to have a lifting buddy that pushes you real hard when you are younger, I know that helped me out.

Kenwood, i'm not trying to talk shit but for some reason I think you are lying. I have noticed you move up in weight like you're on a cycle. It seems like every two weeks you add 10 lbs to all your lifts. If you can really do what you say you can do, kudos, but if not please stop lying. there is no reason to lie, all it does is hurt yourself.

Keep up the good work though.

I suck at high reps because I rarely train my bench press with that kind of weight. I'm used to going heavy which is prolly y my endurance sucks.
