huh?
Take one 6ft guy weighing in at 200lbs at relatively low bodyfat (say, 7 - 20 or whatever).
What do you think people over a range of heights would way would weigh in at if they were to have a similar physique to this guy, only downsized or upsized?
6ft 5, 6ft 4, 6ft 3, 6ft 2, 6ft 1.
5ft 11, 5ft 10, 5ft 9, 5ft 8, 5ft 7, 5ft 6, 5ft 5, 5ft 4 down to 5ft 3.
I'm curious as to the responses to this (have a particular physique at 6ft in mind to answer this one).
huh?

Since I don't actually know, I'm going to divide the weight in pounds by the height in inches to get about 2.778 pounds per inch of height. Then I'd multiply that by the number of inches of each height I'd like to figure out. This is a very rough estimate and maybe not even remotely close. So 6'5'' would be 213.889 pounds; 5'3'' would be 175 pounds.

Hmm, I dunno. 213 at 6ft 5 would be kinda average but 175 at 5ft 3 would be massive!
thats not interesting at all!
My brain just exploded

7-20% body fat is a really big range

Exactly, it is not linear. 213 is stickly at 6'5" and 200 at 6'2" isn't impressive either, and 20% bodyfat is not 'relatively low'Originally Posted by Sef
Height adds weight very quickly, being short shredds it.
5'4 1/2" Lee Priest looks like a 300 pound bodybuilder, but he is around 220-225 in competition shape.

I was just curious as when people talk about weight on here they often don't put it into perspective.

I was a couple pounds shy of 270 at 6'2" and I still felt small, at similar bodyfat the 308 pound powerlifters are when it starts to look big.
Body mass increases cubically as height increases in the person yet only slightly. Jay Cutler's 22" arms would be about equal the to 25.5" arms on Greg Kovaks.

That's what I was lookin for - it would be a nonlinear relationship. I'm sure you can find a chart with an exact formula as someone else said.

Nobody is built the same, but if you look at circumference vs surfance area of arm size as an example you can see how each inch gets progressively more difficult to obtain yet is less of a shocking appearance change than the last inch.

You could always look at a BMI chart. What they consider obese is about where someone would probably look pretty big at a low level of body fat. I'm considered overweight at 190 @ 6', which is about 5 pounds heavier than in my picture in my gallery. I'm not what I call large by any means, but at 220-225 on the BMI scale I would be considered obese. For someone who is lean, they are probably pretty well sized.
I have no idea how effective this is, but I bet it would work for a pretty decent range.

I have a friend who is bone thin and he's considered to be 'overweight' or 'average' on that chart. The thing is crap. My friend must be below 5% BF. No average, healthy person is at 5%.

Yeah, it is crap. I am considered overweight myself. My point is that one who is fairly lean and considered obese would probably generally be seen as "cock diesel."Originally Posted by Squaggleboggin
