Okay, I have just about the worst memory of anyone I know, but I never actually forget to train... Seriously... Now, maybe it's because I think about it pretty much all day so that when I get home I know exactly what I'm going to do and I've already analyzed what I need to work on from the last workout. How can you forget though? Tape a note to your forehead. Staple one to your hand. Put a note on your watch. Tape it to your steering wheel. Put a dumbbell in your car. Put notes on your food. Do whatever you have to do, but you can't forget.

Go get a gym membership tomorrow if youve got the cash man. Its the first step, and then figure out a routine that works for you, and i garantee once you start going if you like it that is , you will not stop thinking about working out!

Personally I think buying weights for home is best. You pay once and get to keep the equipment instead of paying every single month. Save up the money from a membership and soon you'll have enough for your own weights. All you really need is a bench with a place to squat, a BB and some weights. DBs are great too of course, and if you get those I'd get the adjustables. This is assuming, of course, that you have the room, etc..

Try making a schedule of what you will do tomorrow. Tomorrow night, write down what actually happened, and why, and make a schedule for the next day. This will help you get organized, and save time, and it's a good habit to get into anyway. It helps if you set a certain time to go to the gym for every day that you want to do it.

If you are having trouble getting weights, or getting a gym membership, there are other things you can do. There are many bodyweight exercises you can do... Pullups, pushups, crunches, etc. Also, you can find something like a chair and do curls with it. I do stuff like this when I'm on vacation and don't have access to weights... and it definately works.

Just do what you can with what ya got... If you can't do something, don't be too hard on yourself... but if you could have done something, just try harder next time.

Squanto's right. You can always do something (provided you are mentally and physically healthy of course), even if it's just BW exercises. Many, many things can be done.

How can you forget to train? It's usually one of the top priorities of my day, and I look forward to it.

If it's an incredibly busy day, just go when you have an hour and half or so free. It usually helps me get my mind off everything else too.

While this is convienant, and in the long run, cheaper it's just not the same for me... I like having a place to go specifically to get my workout done. I think it lets me concentrate and keeps me more motivated than a home gym would. Plus, if you ever get in to trouble, there are other people around.

I know how you feel. I basically only work out in that part of my basement, it's not used for anything else. It's sort of like my own little corner to do what I need to do. For safety I (as I've said about a million times before, not that I'm irritated or something, it just feels like I've said it a lot) bought a pair of steel sawhorses for $50 at Home Depot. It's all I need and they each hold 1,200 pounds.

Ok, my dad says I cant get a gym pass. But I can workout here at home. My dad wont let me get a bench I've been telling him I really need one because it gives one of the best work outs you can get. He still says no. All he's worried about is my safety.. I have a EZ-Curl bar and I can curl, dead lift, and sqaut... I'm trying to figure out if I need anymore equipment. I've got 80 bucks from Xmas, what should I use it on?

Dumbells if you can't get a bench.

His dad isn't a retard, just misinformed. i was in the same situation as this kid when i wanted to start training, and i went through hell before my parents finally got me a membership to Bally's, lol. just get your dad to get you an oly bar with plates, fuck the bench. squat, overhead press, deadlift, shrug, row etc you're only 13, you'll have lots of time to fine tune your body later, now is the time to set a solid foundation of strength, balance, form and discipline.

Nah, his dad isn't retarted, just worried about his kid. Barbell benching can be dangerous alone, especially if you are not experienced.

Get a set of adjustable dumbells. Those will be fine, you don't need to barbell bench press.

Try and see if your dad will let you get a plain bench to lay on, without the rack for weights and whatnot. That way you can at least dumbell press on the bench. It's a lot cheaper too. Try to get one that adjusts up and down, if you can, but its not that big of a deal if it's too expensive.

Another great investment is a pullup bar. The best kind are the ones that you nail into a doorway. They cost like 10-15 bucks. If your pops won't let you nail into the door, you can grab one like this:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Door-mounting-mu...QQcmdZViewItem

If you get those three things, you don't need a bench press set. You can do everything you need with that stuff, and it won't cost you a fortune.
