P-Funk and curse post some good info i have to agree Foreman but the real truth here is i was training before most of you where a twinkle in your mothers eyes.My perspective is more old school.
yup, I love that book. I asked because you posted pretty much the exact program.
I am into that stuff too. HIT training or similiar protocols such as super squats can be a good time and a great break from more structured types of training. But, chances are if someone is asking for help as far as a routine is concerned they usually fall into 2 catergories:
1) newbie
2) been training but have hit a wall or have been training improperly.
for the former, a HIT routine is a waste IMO because honeslty, they need to learn proper form and biomechanics and ofcourse, they need to learn how to push themselves at the right time, with the proper exercises, to get the most out of the HIT routine. The latter, is probably struggeling because they have been training the same way for a long period of time and usually that means body part training and training to failure on all or most of their working sets. So, we are trying to teach people to learn how to set up and implment a safe and interesting program that can get them on their way to seeing the results the desire. As they mature as a trainer, different techniques can be implemented but I wouldn't start someone with a HIT program. And, not that the super squat program is bad if it wasn't don'e HIT. It is a great mix of multi joint "meat and potatoes" exericeses but we are trying to get people to learn how to balance a routine through movement planes and various muscle groups and joint actions so that they can continuelly change around their routine without our help. "Give a man a fish, and you've given him a meal. Teach him to fish, and he'll have food for a lifetime."
Also, just because you have been training for a long time doesn't mean that your way is always the better way. Sometimes us young whipper snappers have a good idea or two...or three..

I agree we are here to share Knowledge with each other.Just because our opinions differ doesn`t mean either one of us is wrong.

well, the funny thing is that my opinions don't differ that much at all from yours. I am just trying to present the material in a way that people can digest and hopefully turn around into something that they can use and change with success in the future.
Dinosaur Training is a kickass book. Very motivational, and gives you a lot of good training ideas. I have yet to do anything with sandbags, but it got me to start doing farmer's walks, Turkish getups, and throw in more grip training using some of his techniques. Good shit.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
yep! Dinosaur training is a great book. I also get his daily email. use the search here and search for threads started by me in the training forum with the title Dr. Ken in it. I posted a lot of Dr. Ken (lestner) training articles from the old Nautalis magazines and his Steel Tip publication. You may enjoy those also.
