    routine question

    my workout routine:

    Squats 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Leg Extensions 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    SL Deadlifts1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Dumbbell Pullovers 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Barbell Overhead Shoulder Press 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Seated Rows 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Bench Press 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Barbell Bicep Curls 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Tricep Extensions 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Lateral Pulldown 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Weighted Dips 1 X 8 - 10 reps
    Seated Calf Raises 1 X 8 - 12 reps
    Abs - 1 X 10 - 15 reps

    -3days a week.

my question is do you think certain excercises ,like seated calf raises and tricep extension, are not a good idea in a HIT routine because they target a muscle too specificaly rather than more vaguely like compound movements do?

I simply think that is too much volume for an HIT routine. I think 5-7 exercises is more reasonable. You have to remember that you are placing a lot of stress on your CNS. Organize your routines like this:

Lower Body Movement: Alternate between hip and knee dominant each session.
Upper Body Push: Alternate between vertical and horizontal each session.
Upper Body Pull: Alternate between vertican and horizontal each session.

After you get that base down, throw in 2-3 extra movements.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

Thanks. Ill take your advice. Ill make some modifications and change the routine acording to your proposed Lowerbody,Uppr Push,Uppr Pull suggestion.
