Gold's Gym. It's also where I work. ~7 minute walk from my house. They have a cage and 2 racks, so that's all I really care about.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

in the russian wilderness in the middle of winter like rocky! where the hell do you think I train?
I train at my university's gym
For winter and summer breaks I train at home, I have an olympic weight set, a bench/rack that I can use for squats and whatever, a pullup/dip station, and just the other day I bought some thick floor padding so I can do deadlifts.

I train at California Family Fitness and also have an assortment of benches, bars, plates and a hi and lo crossover cable frame in the garage. It also doubles as a squat rack. I like the gym better. They're building what they claim will be the largest fitness center in California a mile from my house. I don't know about all that, but so far it looks pretty impressive size wise. Also will have 4 swimming pools and lap pools. Should be open in another month or so. Can't wait.

I train at the local gym closest to me.
It's pretty nice being in a smaller town in a gym that's not all that crowded usually.
You don't have to worry about someone else being on a machine you need to use next.
for the most part i lifted at the home.....but recently because i am trying to help a friend train i got a gym membership. i have to say though i feel as if i am losing out by not training at home. at the gym the free weights and benches are usually taken so some things i have to do on the machines which i don't care for. on the machines you end up doing a lot more weight than you could using free weights which confuses me. i was on the shoulder press machine doing 200lbs where on free weights i do 140lbs.
At a gym I used to train at years ago. It's about 15 minutes away, but well worth the effort to get there. Reasonable price(s), you can dress almost anyway you want; i.e. jeans/workbooks/everyday clothes/etc, and it's got all the equipment you need to build a great physique, and the people who train there are pretty cool.
I workout at the YMCA
