What your describing sounds like two different "classic" lifts..
Deadlift
Straight-Leg Deadlift
I'm new to the deadlifts too, but from what I gather the deadlift will incorporate more muscles, more compound so to speak, and you'll be lifting more weight. While the SLDL is more isoating on the lower back. Not and expert, but I think both exercises are good ones, but the latter, SLDL, could have more potential for injury if the wieght is overdone.



. I m still a n00b, so dont know if this would be considered bad form.
