    is it a bad idea to run for about 45 min after a work out?

    If your bulking up, yes. If your cutting, then running is ok after the workout but 45 min's is a excessive.

    I would say that separating cardio and resistance training session is better if you can swing it. However, if your goal is just general health, then it probably won't do much harm.
    The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
