Question on cardio + weight training on same day.

    Hi guys,
I am at that stage, when I am finished with my bulking. I gained a nice amount of weight, and have gotten where I want. Now I want to drop 20 pounds, and hit 10% or lower body fat. I have a gym pass for Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. I'm curious if it would alright to do 30 minutes of cardio on a gym day? Like say I went and did cardio after I woke up at 9 AM, then did weight training at 6 PM on the same day (Except leg days)? I don't like to run outside since I have asthma, and the pollution around here kind of makes it hard to breathe. I tried doing a search, but couldn't find anything results about this.

    Thanks!

I have been doing a clean bulk from the start. My body fat hasn't changed from when I started bulking actually. It's been the same.

Yes, it is fine, but it is better to alter diet, then cardio. If you get used to doing 30 minutes of cardio, you won't be able to perform it on 500 less cals a day. So you alter the diet, then let cardio come in later. The other scenario is when you change both at the same time, and that sucks ass.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

If you are training with weights at a proper intensity and at the same time lowering your calories do you think that starting to do all that cardio right out the bat is a good idea? Think about it? You create the first caloric defecit via your diet and you train and expend calories. If you were doing cardio don't you think that you will be putting yourself in to great of a defecit, not leaving yourself any place to go?

Also, what does your training split look like? if you are training legs with any intensity don't you think that all that cardio would kill your legs? HIIT sprints would be better to add in moderation as a way to spike your metabolism and keep your work more anerobic.

I'm a bit confused on what you guys are saying. Could you elaborate it a little bit more?

    My Split is:

    Monday: Chest
    Wednesday: Shoulders/Triceps
    Friday: Back/Bicep
    Sunday: Legs/Abs

Yes, it's OK. It's best to split up your cardio from your weights.... like do cardio in the morning and weights at night. However, many of us don't have time for this. Just try to keep your workouts under an hour if possible. If your workouts are too long you start to burn your muscle for fuel, which is a bad thing.
