    Thumbs up Before/After pics

Hey there, i'm always reading the boards but thought i'd post because i'm looking for some help. I have a couple male friends that are overweight and discouraged about their bodies. They've lifted weights before, but not at a high level. Both have skinny frames but are 25-35 lbs overweight. I'm trying to convince them they can make drastic strides in their physiques in 4-6 months if they follow a good diet and train hard, but they lack some motivation. I was wondering if anyone could post pictures of your physcial transformations with before and after pictures, and briefly how you stuck with it. I think that could be all they need to commit to a good diet and weightlifting routine. I think other people, including myself might like the little extra motivation themselves. Thanks, you guys do a great job.

Unfortunately I don't have any before pictures. Let me tell you my story though. I was always a chunky kid. When I hit my growth spurt I leaned out a little bit but still maintained a good hunk of lard on me. At my worst, I was 6' tall @ about 205 pounds, and my body fat was probably 25% body fat give or take a little bit. I started trying to eat better and I exercised daily. I just did jogging and bodyweight exercises.

I dropped about 45 pounds in a couple of months (Horrible idea by the way; I definitely lost a bunch of muscle). I was hovering around 160 @ about 15% body fat for a little while. Eventually I got back into lifting weights. Within 6 months I got myself up to 180 or so, but at a lower body fat than when I started. I ended up around 8 or 9% body fat. Since then I have added another 10 pounds or so of mostly muscle. The other day I weighed in @ 192, and I'm probably still around 10% body fat.

You can see my pictures in my gallery @ about 185.

Sorry i dont have any pics either. When i need motivation, this may sound weird, i just think of people i hate ie teachers, boss, rivals etc and pretend their the weights and just go psycho, it works to fire me up plus it relieves stress and relaxes me for the rest of the day!

I'm kinda lucky, being that I'm tall (6'4''). I don't have a lot of excess skin anywhere but my mid section. Unfortunately it's considerable. The only way it will ever go away (for me) is through surgery. It's my penalty for allowing myself to get to the point I did. I'll have it removed someday.
