    Tips for cutting?

Hey, I'm going to start cutting in a little less then a week. I was wondering if any one knows any helpful tips while cutting, preferably how to loose the most fat with out loosing much or any muscle, what kind of workouts I should do, etc.. Other tips will be appreciated as well. I just ordered Melting Point and RedLine, as well as my protien (ON Pro Complex). I dont know if the before mentioned will help at all but I figured I'd give that inromation in helping you people help me (somehow that sentence makes sence.. I think). I don't want to start my cut off wrong so this is why I am asking for everyones advice/tips/tricks/etc... Thanks in advance

Take it slow (slowly decrease calories); eat the right foods; eat smaller meals more often; eat the most calories in the beginning of the day and taper off towards the end; adjust your training accordingly - don't expect to gain strength while in a negative energy balance; be patient; take measurements often (daily), but review them infrequently (weekly or bimonthly); consider your progress (or lack thereof) and act accordingly (change it or keep it the same if it's working); think positive. Good luck.

For cutting when should i do cardio? In between workout days, on rest days? Although it would no longer be resting. Or should i just do the cardio after im done my workout? Also how long for cardio is about normal, like 30 minutes?

I disagree with a couple of things there. The whole taper your calories off toward the end of the day thing is kind of nonsense. The only time you might want to make sure that you are eating more calories is pre, during, and post workout to prevent catabolism. All other meals should be pretty close in my opinion. Eating merely a tiny meal before bed means being fasted for longer.

Also, you can definitely gain strength while in a negative energy balance, but muscle gains are much tougher.

    Good stuff overall though.

    Squaggle,

Everything you write sounds like it's coming from a PT or fitness expert, but your 16 and for all I know you could be full of shit. I'm not cutting you down by any means, i'm just saying you sound really smart and for all I know your making this stuff up.

    Good shit though.

If he's wrong tell him he's wrong...regardless of how old he is...I know Personal Trainers in their 30's and 40's who are full of shit...Sounds like he's smarter than you and you're having trouble discerning whether or not his statements have any validity and his age is a determining factor??

If he was older you would be more inclined to take his advice??

I'm basically saying he knows a lot for how old he is. It's the way he write's, he sounds very intelligent. I'm not putting him down at all, i've actually used a lot of his advice.

The point I was trying to make is that he is very good with words and that for all I know he could be making this stuff up. I don't think he is, I was just making a comment.

He sounds to me like he is a very smart kid.
