High reps for toning....not just a myth?

"High reps=lactic acid
lactic acid=growth hormone release
growth hormone=less bodyfat
less bodyfat=toned

High reps=lactic acid
lactic acid=greater mitochondrial proliferation
greater mitochondrial proliferation=more energy used
more energy used=fat loss
fat loss=toned"

From what I know lactic acid is more of a Bad thing.
