    progress?

Iv been wroking out with around 9 months so far and when i started i weighed around 165 with little muscle and i would say around 19% body fat. Now i weigh 172 and i would guess 10% body fat. I hear stories about guys gaining around 30 lbs of muscle in this time. Am i doing something wrong considering i didnt add a serious amount of weight, all i did was loose all the fat and uped my weight 7 lbs.

Do the math. You gained quite a bit of muscle. By my calculations you gained a bit over 20 pounds of lean mass. Converse to what you have heard, I also have seen countless people gain no more than 5-10 pounds after their first year.

I've been going at it hard for probably the last 9 months as well and I have gained maybe 4 lbs. So yeah, in my book you're doing pretty damn good.
