Enough cardio?
BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com I know this is going to be tough to answer based on my circumstances, but maybe someone will have a decent idea based on what i DO know.
Ok.. I'm at school, I have really no idea how much food I am consuming on daily basis. All I know is, when I go to the cafeteria, I eat as much as I can swallow. I drink 2 glasses of milk (2 whole, 2 choc., or 1 of each) every time I am there. As far as workout days, I use dextrose pre and post wo... whey pre and post... glut and cee pre and post. Also, I eat about 1-2cu brown rice every night, with rare exceptions. I know it sucks to shoot in the dark like this, and I DON'T when I'm at home, but I HAVE to here. I cannot afford to buy all my own food, not enough money OR time. I am using more-or-less a Joe Defranco modified westside routine. I am in week 5 and have been adding strength in almost every lift steadily. I have only gone from 162 to 164ish in these 5 weeks, but I think I actually LOOK leaner... so maybe more than 2lbs muscle. My bodyfat looks to be around maybe 10%... I've never NOT been able to see my abs. Idk if I just store fat in weird places or what.. I've always had some fat on the sides of my chest... but always seen my abs. Anyway.. I figure if I AM getting leaner and gaining some muscle... both slowly... maybe I can add in some extra good fats and carbs... and a little cardio... and accelerate both things. I wouldn't mind seeing myself a little leaner.. I've always been about where I am. Would sprints 2x a week make much difference at all? Drew |

I say yes. Sprints do amazing things in terms of setting off the "oh shit" alarm inside your body. The massive devouring of ATP that your body does during a sprint leads to a serious surge in ADP and AMP levels, which means your body now needs to adapt. It can't have this surge in AMP/ADP levels, because that means ATP levels are lacking. So, this leads to a greater propensity to store glycogen in muscle. As well, you get a nice metabolic boost for quite a while post workout because of the massive EPOC you induce during sprints.
