IE instead of 3 - 1,500 calorie meals, eat 6 - 700 calorie meals. That's a 300 calorie deficit but you'll be constantly eating throughout the day. Make those meals count and eat very good foods. Keep cutting off more calories if necessary, but do so slowly.

Thanks guys for the tips. Hopefully it helps because I have been getting these insane headaches lately and I've been very exhausted... which resulted in me not being able to workout somedays because I'll just sit down and without even knowing it I'll be asleep. Hmm... maybe I should start planning out my meals in advance??

Definitely plan in advance. Also, make sure your tiredenss is a result of a caloric deficit, not from eating the wrong foods, not sleeping enough, having more stress, or other factors that could be causing it. Try going up to your normal level of calories and slowly changing your eating habits (take the example I used). From there, slowly change them again (maybe 50 calories less per meal). In other words, try something for a couple weeks. If there are no results, increase the caloric deficit. If you get good results, keep it there. If not, increase the caloric deficit. KISS - keep it simple stupid. Always a good saying.

Try to limit your caloric deficit. Something like 500 calories per day below maintenance is plenty. You may also consider keeping your calories at maintenance levels and increasing activity levels.

Also, what's your carb intake like? A lot of people respond very poorly to low carbohydrate diets.

I don't know how much weight you have to lose, but 1% of your bodyweight per week is a good guideline. So, something like 1-2 pounds per week for most people is about the fastest I would cut weight.

what does your diet/training look like that you're feeling like this? are you tracking your macronutrients? eating way too low below maintenance?

I'd definitely say it's possible. There is no reason why a dedicated individual with a sensible plan can't lose weight and achieve his/her reasonable goals of weight loss and overall health and appearance.

Speaking from personal experience, I've lost about 40 pounds now since September (maybe October, but somewhere around there) by simply improving my eating habits. Did my age play a role? Yes, but I never had a very fast metabolism, so I'm not the stereotypical teen most people think of who can eat anything. The point is, I've never been thin (and I still don't consider myself thin yet), but I know it's possible to lose weight.

Just remember to keep it simple. You don't have to make 100 changes all at once. Pace yourself so you don't cheat (depending on how much self-control you have). Start by thinking about what you're actually putting in your mouth. Is it greasy? Fried? Nutritious? Will it give you energy or just allow you to store fat? Are you eating it because it tastes good or because you're hungry? Are you eating only until you're full or because the food is good? Eat slowly and take your time. It helps to know when you're full. Other basic guidelines include eating smaller meals more often, tapering your calories throughout the day (breakfast should be the largest meal; dinner the smallest) and simply making the right choices. You can check out the diet and nutrition forum, but it's not completely necessary for everyone trying to lose weight to get very detailed with what they do. I honestly think that many people can successfully do it if they follow basic guidelines, but very consistently. Good luck.

thanks a lot Squaggle, yeah one problem I do have is that on weekends, im always out. so only thing i get to eat tahts in my plan is my breakfast. Everythign else is from someones house or a restaurant. But that doesnt mean i order friend chicken, i try my best to stay clean. So my goal is 2 be cut by my birthday march 30th,(kind of a big goal for me cuz i haver never been cut) and im going to try my hardest. I am young (16) but seem to have a slow metabolism...or i have a addiction to food. So for the next month or so, i am gona be as strict as I can

Also you are all missing the most important note, Drink plenty of water! We all need lots of it but even more so when cutting! WHY? Carbs contain alot of water and we cut these strictly to decrease cals, so we drink lots of water. Water contains no cals! I drink lots of water between meals and it seems to speed up my matablism! Try it yourself friend
