    KILLER ab workout needed

I'm starting to get serious about weights again, and I need a killer ab workout.

Basically, I've always had freakishly strong abs...I can do situps all day long. I'm not looking for any secret to get the more ripped or anything (I can basically see all 6) I just ned a workout that is going to really get help me build up my ab muscles bigger. I've done situps with weights before, reverse crunches, leg lifts, etc...is this really the best I can do? Anybody have any great workouts out there I can try?

Personally I think all a person needs is squat's, deadlifts and lots of rows and that will work the Ab's enough.

i saw some kids at my school gym doen some intence ab exercises, basically one of them laid on a bench holding onto the bar above him, his parter tossed the other guys legs around while the dude laying down had to fight back and keep his legs straight out, it lookd real good and i think i didnt explain it right

I know what you're talking about. Lots of sports teams use that and from what I hear it is indeed very good.

However, I agree with TOM that isometric work is all that's truly necessary for the abs, depending on what you do. Try prisoners walks, front squats, plate walks, bear hug walks, deadlifts and things of that nature. Of course, you probably wouldn't use such exercises because they're not geared towards bodybuilding and your goals seem to lean in that direction. I'm just saying that it's not completely necessary to do direct ab work, but it is a good idea to work the trunk with unilateral and functional exercises.

In terms of really difficult core work, I like dragon flags, hanging tick-tocks, hanging circumductions, and steep decline situps with as much weight as you need.

If you want a killer ab workout, you can stab yourself in the chest while doing crunches?

Just train and with the proper diet, you have that 6 pack. you don't need to work them by themselves.

Jesus you guys. I have never done a situp in my life. I can feel the 6 pack underneath. I'll I'd have to do is drop my B/F into the single didgits and they would show.

Doing situps all day does not mean you have freakishly strong abs, any more than a person who runs marathons has freakishly strong legs...lol...I never understood this logic. Cows can chew all day but that doesn't mean they can bite harder than a lion.

Put weight on your chest and workout with a range of 20-30 while focusing on the negatives. Do them on an incline if necessary. Focus on progressive overload training. It doesn't matter what exercises you do so long as you can add weight, focus on the negative aspect and increase weight and or reps. Change things up every 3-4 weeks.
