Hello.
This is my first post in this forum. Its quite nice to see places like this for those of us who could really use advices from experienced boybuilders. .
Anyways, I am 16 years old and i began working about 4 months ago in my school. I've moved on now and I go to big fitness centers. For the past 4 months all i did was the same thing, 15 minuts of running and weight lifting, 100 sit ups daily for 1 hour and 30mins. I just came to realize that I have to either burn fat or work on muscle and I was doing both at once and I was told it doesnt work that way. So right now i plan on burning some fat for the next week or 2. Then do some heavy lifting.
My question is, what is the best way to burn some fat. Im quite a novice. And i have been working out for about 4 months and I notice very little muscle.

First of all 1-2 weeks is not enough time to burn fat off, secondly what are your stats and what are you goals?
I see. Then i'll make the fat burn session for longer. As for my current goal, I am trying my best to develop some abs and work on my pecks. I am not that fat just a little chubby. I weigh 180LBs.
Don't think of it as burning fat, but rather as not eating any. In other words, make your diet immaculate and your body will follow suit. Don't think that you have to make a million changes all at once either. Start off slowly: eat smaller meals more frequently; taper your calories throughout the day; do some research to see where to get the 'good' fats and carbs from; stay away from fried foods; stay away from soft drinks; consume a lot of protein. Even if you just make these minor changes, I guarantee results will appear.
It is possible for you to gain muscle while losing fat. Two things make this particularly possible for you: 1) your age; 2) your relative inexperience with weight training. It's called a body recomposition. Basically, clean up your diet (start with what's above and get more technical later if you feel it's necessary) and get a good, solid routine planned out. FOLLOW THE ROUTINE. Make sure you're consistent with it (it's okay to take off extra days for more rest, etc, but whatever you do, don't stop).
I can also say from experience that his works. I've lost almost 40 pounds in about 5 months. This is not a bad speed in my opinion, and I've also increased my absolute, relative and functional strengths, as well as my work capacity and a few other things as well. Read the stickies at the top of this forum for a good place on where to start with your routine. Research it, adjust it to your needs and post it here for a final critique. Make sure you study the form for each exercise carefully - the better your form is, the better your gains will be and the less your chances of injury. Good luck.

Yes, food is one big issue. I agree. I also work in a fast food restaurant. I have recently stopped eating there and im still developing the habit of stopping to drink their drinks. I'll be working on my eating habits. Thanks.
I didnt know it was possible for me to gain muscle and lose weight at the same time. Age is important i take it. I'll go surf around the sticky notes on this forum and see what others have and see if i can make my own routine. I'll try my best to figure something out.
Just one small question, If i want to keep eating small a couple times a day. What would be something reasonable to eat.

You really should eat more like six small meals a day. As far as specific foods, check out the diet and nutrition forum. It has a shopping list in one of the stickies and the people there really know their stuff.
