when i bench my right shoulder in the rear of it has a sharp pain afterwards and in the middle of the lift...is their something wrong? so lately i have switched to db presses..i love em anyway so i have been doing them for like 1-2months
I have the same problem right now, I have taken 3 weeks off and will take 1 more. At this point I have realised it is better to heal then try to train around a tendon or ligament injury.....too often it will get worse if you don't let it rest.
Yet another thread where kenwood learns nothing....

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
to improve their lives.

I can all but guarentee that the reason you experience pain is because all the weight bears down on your shoulder during the negative phase of the lift, and that you push with mostly your shoulders during the postive phase.
When you bench, you need to squeeze your shoulder blades back as far as possible and focus on squeezing/contracting your pectoral muscles to move the weight up and down as opposed to just pushing with your shoulders.
Problem solved.
You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.

it doesn't happen when i am doing my normaly workout or when i'm using db's just when i max out..do u think if i'm pushin w/my shoulders it would effect?
Kenwood, I had the same issue and made a thread about it a while back. I had a very sharp pain in my right "shoulder blade" but I had it even when I was just lifting the bar off the pins with minimal weight. I kept on doing my regular routine but that proved to only make the case worse.
Bottom line, if it hurts you, take the time off.
does your dad lift weights. If so the next time he is benching and bringing the bar down, stomp on one of his toes. When he drops the weight on his chest and then ask what the hell you did that for, tell him you figured it would help him lower the weight quicker and then run like hell.
