Heavy Days,Moderate Days, Light Days
i've read some articles where some people have routines where they have heavy, moderate, and light days as far as the amount of weight is concerned. for someone who is trying to get bigger and is already cut, is there any point to having a "light" day, where light means your reps are between 12-15 reps?
it isn't a bad idea at all. it is called undulating periodization. Do a search for it here. It has been discussed many times.

yup, it is a great idea, I do it, well I used to...I am just now starting to work-out again so all of my work-outs are light right now.
