I've tried all kinds of things over the years. Right now my current experimentation is approximately:

    Monday - Upper body
Wednesday or Thursday - Upper body
    Saturday - Lower body

Upper body days are relatively low volume, intensity and rep ranges shift based on how I feel. Leg day is a bit more blast it hard, and it over with for the week. I have a left shoulder injury that I'm making a comeback from so I'm in the lower volume boat but higher frequency and not 100% intensity except perhaps on a rare set, for pressing stuff pretty much never right now.

Right now I am doing 2 days per week devoted to the bench press and 2 days per week devoted to the squat/deadlift. It's essentially an upper-lower split. Lately I've been alternating between this style of training and total body 3x per week.
