you can't spot reduce so you'll lose fat all over, not just in a couple spots. are you lifting? training preserves muscle. how low are your calories? what are your stats?

While she may creak, she holds...
To preserve muscle, stand on your head for 2 hours a day, it allows the blood to rush to your head. As long as you think about preserving muscle, the blood will get the orders and do as told or face dire consequences. Now, the answer to your question is to lose a moderate amount of weight each week to preserve muscle. |

Lift heavy and make sure you aren't starving yourself. Shooting for about 1 pound of weightloss each week will help insure that you maintain your muscle mass. Also, it seems to help if you increase your protein intake during a cutting cycle.

Yes i do lift weights a lot. I guess that helps... My main goal is to get abs. I work on them daily, even on my day off i do some small exercises if i get the time for it.
I just got a question. My dad is bragging about this to me a lot...he keeps saying dont lift too heavy or you'll get/stay short..is this true...? I can lift 45Kgs but he says to do like 25kg which i dont. Is that good or bad? |

as the guy said earlier. You cannot spot check fat. U will be leaner in certain areas but that has to do with body composition & genetics. I suggest eatting a lot more protein & glutamin & up your reps to burn more calories if you do not do much cardio. UPPING the protein will help you not loose muscle.
Good luck. |

. Anyway, I hope your training is a good balanced routine that trains everything equally. If so, your main focus should be diet, don't eat a LOT less than maintenance, but aim for about 1lbs a week, or 1% of your BW per week. Maybe cut down on carbs a little if you're used to having a lot.Last edited by Seanp156 : 03-14-2006 at 10:03 PM. |

I'm pretty sure. If you're losing too much muscle, you probably cut calories more than you should have. Try carb cycling, though I think you need to do a A LOT of studying before attempting that. |
