    Tattoo's

Does anyone know if after having a tattoo done is it a bad idea to keep lifting, the day after or the few following days after?
Any personal experience in this area would be greatly appreciated

i don't think you have to worry about a pump damaging the ink...but if you get big pumps it could break the skin.

plus I'm sure all the sweat doesn't help its cleanliness...

IMO I would wait for the skin to heal.

What does that kanji mean, if it is kanji. I'm basing that off you're avatar

The tricep doesn't seem like the ideal place to have a tattoo of a grocery list... Don't you have to look in a mirror to see it?

it's okay to lift you might feel a bit of a tingle where the scab is being stretched off the skin

Personally i'd leave it, do another body part if you have to work out, but you may as well get a rest day in there!

When i had both of mine done i took to time to relax for once. Better not to risk breaking the light scabbing, and cleanliness can be an issue as somebody said.

Plus, i dont know about anybody else, but mine were sore enough without adding muscle fatigue to that :P

Eh, it can be good for your body to give it a breather every once in a while. I know what you mean though, same thing happened to me when i had mine.

I was in agony after those first post-rest workouts.

What did you get done anyway?

Ive had a lot of tribal work done across my back, shoulders and top of the arms, because this is thick bold work i stay away from the gym especially when in the scabbing up period. Most guys that who had kept working out had split the scabs from stretching and when the tattoo had healed they had alot of split marks in their work and you could see the bare skin through the tattoo.
