To be the best person that I can be. I am always improving on something, whether it is my strength, conditioning, body composition, or whatever it may be. I will be a better person one month from now than I am today.

Also, weight training/exercise is my release. It's almost like meditation. I don't think about money, girls, or any other bullshit problems that come along when I'm in the gym. It's my time, and none of that crap is going to ruin it. I get so focused sometimes that an earthquake couldn't break my concentration.

P.S. - Earthquake is another word for a women in a thong doing squats.

To build confidence as well as muscle/strength.

I've never really been that confident, but since i've been training ive gotten much better.

Sometimes its as simple as walking into a room full of people and thinking "could any of these have benched what i benched today? HELLLLL no."

It's all about self improvement on any level at all.

To put myself in a position where I'm ready to tackle anything life throws at me. Physically, mentally, and spiritually. When I have doubts about any of those, I'm motivated.

Not everyone is going to be a champion powerlifter or bodybuilder. Not everyone will deadlift 700lbs or get to 260lbs ripped with 6% BF. But, we can all work hard, do the best we can do with what has been given to us and enjoy the ride.

    Right on...

To be the best I can be (like others have stated), to consistently improve myself...in and out of the gym, to maximize my God given ability and potential. As I improve myself each day, each facet of my life hangs in a delicate balance and nothing ever seems to develop equally. So it all comes down to shifting emphasis on what needs work which keeps me motivated kinda indefinitely - mentally, physically, and spiritually.

All of that flows into life outside the gym - in emotional, psychological, and social aspects; as I improve myself, I improve those around me as well. I become focused more on others, their needs - what I can do to help others - and that in turn helps me to become a better person, a better bodybuilder. It also helps to clear the air about bodybuilders in general - that we aren't a bunch of muscleheads. Some might disagree!

The bodybuilding lifestyle keeps me going too - to push myself each and every day makes me who I am; we are what we do. Dedication, fortitude, and perseverance define character.

The camaraderie of the bodybuilding community is also an important factor in maintaining the "edge." That being the shared knowledge and insight into various philosophies and beliefs. All things are not agreed upon but the very fact that we can all help each other, directly or indirectly, says a lot about the great "sport" we have come to love.

    Man I dig it!

    My real objective is to:
    - get more women. Thats my motivation. In order to achieve that i need 2 things:
    - work my seducing abilities (thats another story)
    and
    - get a nice body (something that i dont have...to thin)

Also, i get motivated by knowing that:
    - i am getting healthy
    - in the end of teh exercise, the release of so much substances makes me feel good
    - i will get more strenght (that can be useful).

And finally one big motivation that i have for training:
    - friends. If i didnt have my 2 friends with me i would lost my motivation. Also, one of them as a big body and i look to it and i think "I must work hard to get a body like that" . Friends can be great to make you feel more energetic. When i work alone i will not lift so much!

    - You could use some electro music in your trainings, for giving you a moral boost.

So, in resume, you can try to get motivated by: training with friends, training with music; motivate yourself by knowing that after some weeks you will get stronger and more beautiful (women, women, sex, sex :P....).

Same here. Pretty straight forward motivation. Once you're into it for a while it just becomes as routine as brushing your teeth. You never really think about it.
