I think they are a decent supplement to the basic compounds, but adding in lots of isolation work never really seemed to make a difference for me.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

Never liked em, feels akward. I just stick with flat bench dumbell flys.
I always finish my chest, bi, or tri day with cables...they are a great method for isolation if thats you goal.
I get great pumps from cables.


waist of time IMO, I never do them.
never do em, I stick to dumbell flys, machine flys (yea, I know but I like em), and dips!
