The more you sleep, the more muscle you gain?

Someone had told me that it was possible to make amazing gains if you gave your body a lot of rest. He said sleeping for more than 11 hours a night would bring your body into an anabolic state more so that if you had slept for 6 hours...which wud create cortisol therefore making you catabolic! How many hours do you guys sleep for and does it make any difference in your gains? Also, does this hinder your chances of allowing peace in yourself?

I'm never sure if your talking rubbish or not Konan, especially after your anal hygiene and steroids posts, but I try and sleep 8-8.5 hours a night.

11 hours is crazy. I'd ignore that person who gave you that info.
I love it when a plan comes together.

It's the quality of the sleep, not the quantity

Basically, you want to get at least 7-9 hours of sleep .. preferably around 8 hours. If you sleep over 10 hours, you're body will go into a catabolic phase and will lack the nutrition you need and you will also feel more tired and groggy if you sleep too long.

It's ok to get more than 10 hours of sleep every once in a while, just dont make it a habit.

i agree. sleeping for more than 11 hours a night would make you very irritable aswell as slightly disinterested and not motivated for any physical activities!!

You want to sleep in blocks of four hours, 8 hours is ideal but 2 4 hour naps are also good because of the brains natural REM cycles during sleep.

If you're training to gain weight...I agree w/ the above recommendation, but not for the same premise.

Sleep for 4 hrs..wake up and eat 600-100cal then go back to bed for 4 hrs....This can be very effective even for people with speedy metabolisms.
