I have had some pain in my right forearm when going heavy on the straight bar and then hurt when i put pressure on the area. Here is what someone in the medical feild told me to do.

Without an examination I cant give you a 100% diagnosis but within about 90 % accuracy what you have is lateral epicondylitis technically (tennis elbow) This pain is brought on by repetitive movement and or excessive strain of the area by too much weight. (your scenario)

Initially you should ice it. Anti-inflammatory meds or tylenol will help slightly. After a week or so change to heat and cycle it on and off for 15 minutes. Heat it 15 min then off for an hour and do it again. If you goto a PT or rehab place classic treatment is ultrasound and rest.

Also try and strech the surrounding structures for releif.

I dont know if this applies to you but if so i hope it helps

Does the pain still persist now? Have you had problems like this before? Did you stop the workout and ice it? Is there any inflammation?

I never had problems like this before no, it was sudden but instant. As soon as I did my first drag curl rep the pain just hit. I didn't notice any swelling tho.

Where along the arm is the pain? Be specific. Is it near the elbow joint? Closer to the wrist? Lateral or medial portion of the forearm?

It's near the elbow joint, medial. The part that probley gets the biggest pump from doing drag curls.

Sounds almost like where the bicep tendon lies, except that it is connected to the radius. Could also be where one of the wrist flexors originates. Do you do the drag curls with a pronated or supinated grip? Are you referring to medial assuming an anatomical position, or with one of the aforementioned grip styles?

All these big words, I'm starting to think your trying to confuse me lol. Im doing the drag curls with a pronated grip I guess, like a normal bicep curls, hands under the barbell with palms facing up. The pain in on the upper part by the elbow, but opposite of where my elbow is facing.

right in that area, under the elbow joint

Okay, you're taking a supinated grip, not a pronated grip. Supinated = underhand; pronated = overhand. Medial means toward the midline of your body, but that term is usually used in reference to the anatomical position:

Notice the thumbs point outward.

So, tell me, is the pain on the thumb side or the pinky side? That should be easier to answer without mincing words.

Not trying to jack the thread. I get forearm pain too when doing curls. Right in the middle inner with the barbell in my hands. I used to only notice it with heavy weight, but after this last workout I have noticed it while doing stuff. Like washing the car.
