How good is swimming?..

Hey,

I've recently heard swimming is really good for you if you are cutting (it was from a little kid so ya). I am wondering, is this true?. Im currently cutting and I'd like to lose fat and was wondering if i should go on with this after my work outs or not?
Thanks for answering

I hear diet is really good for getting cut!

Swimming is just a form of cardio. It is nice because it has no impact though.

I used swimming quite a bit last year, but found it too low impact...
In other words it didn't raise my HR enough to really burn...

And if I increased the duration of my swims, the longer sessions
tired out my shoulders and weakened their stability when lifting free weights...

Just something to consider

My G/F's sister is trying to cut and wants to do lots of swimming because running/skipping/sprinting/cycling/rowing isn't her thing (which might explain the weight issue to begin with) - did you manage to get any benefit of it at all for cutting?

tell her to lift. women have this crazy aversion to lifting heavy...most are scared of it or something ie: "it will make me bulky." get her in the gym and hide the 5lb DBs as well as the cardio equipment from her.

i read and believe that the only way a girl can get bulky is from taking steroids
the reason is there body does not produce enough testosterone

so what happens. they just get cut up? or this isn't true at all
I seen The13ig13adWolf pics, by the way you have a awseome body, will women just look you if they train with heavy weights or is it possible to get really bulky, etc.

I already have her lifting - but she keeps damn well using all the flashy looking machines rather than the freeweights program i gave her. It's funny you should mention the 5lb DB - i tried to give her almost an entirely DB program so that she would feel safer without a spotter. She couldn't even manage to do a lunge with the 5lb DB! I've moved her back to bodyweight lunges - I had no idea that people existed who couldn't even lift 5lbs!
