Just a few questions...
We've finally hit spring football ( and I'm still not lifting how I'd like to but here's my question ). If I want to get stronger, but at the same time lose weight what should I be eating? I want to drop fat ( I've gained about 15 lbs in the past 3 months ) and put 45 lbs on my bench and 100 lbs on my squat, and I now I want to shed it.
My stats are 6'2 270 Bench: 275 Squat: 410 BF: Around 28-32% I'm a defensive lineman, which means I want to lose some fat, but I want to keep getting stronger and a 2 month break from the training program we're on now for the coaches means I can train how I want. This is our current routine ( squat, bench, power cleans, incline bpress ) 3 times a week with cardio and foot work on the other 2 days. Pretty stupid, but coaches rules so I have to follow them. So, how should I be eating, and how can I get stronger and lose fat, anything would be helpful; so don't hold back. |

how you should be eating depends on how you are eating right now! I would post your diet in the nutrition forum and tell Jodi and Emma I sent ya.....that way they wont bite.
![]() As far as your training.....lets see the program as well as what you are doing cardio wise..basically, the whole thing.....sets, reps, exericises and cardio. If you want to gain/retain strength while dieting it is simple.....keep the intensity high and keep the volume lower. the other means of energy expenditure will come through other things like increase some mechanical work via other exercises after your main strength exercises are completed and your cardio. Damn....I didn't know you were that big! 270 is huge!!!
