legs
Ok I have a weird question...I was wondering if working ur legs on the Starr 5x5 program will cause u to get buky legs and a a bulky butt? I already have pretty big legs. And my butt and hips are pretty big too. I'm not fat, It's just the way im proportioned. If I do the starr 5x5, are they going to get more cut, or are they just going to get extra massive. Because I don't want that lol. But I do want to see my upper body grow more. For the last 2 years I worked the upper body hard, and I didn't work legs that hard. thanks in advance.
Oh, and for this workout, should I be eating about 3600 calories daily, or just on workout days? I weight about 200lbs. |

Intensity would play a major role in answering your question. All and all, Im somewhat confused by your inquiry. The powers that be at IM preach a well rounded approach to lifting, if you dont want your legs to grow, dont do them.

Well you have to remember that when your upper body grows, you're going to want your legs bigger too. You have to keep things in proportion. Anyway, trust me dude, chicks dig nice legs. The last few girls I've been with have complimented the shit out of my legs.
However, if you do want to stop your legs from growing, then just don't overload them anymore. If you lift 225 for 5x5 for the next 6 months, then your legs probably aren't going to hypertrophy no matter how much you're eating. I seriously doubt you're going to need to do that though. |

are you dieting? if you are hypocaloric then you aren't going to gain size.
On another side note....WTF?? You don't want your legs to get bigger? Are you a chick? |

Shush about the chicks!
Although...mine darn well better only be growing from strength-related stuff! Maybe if he did ultra-low rep stuff to bring his strength more in line with his size? Not much of a hypertrophy-related training effect from doubles and triples, but they're great for seeing the numbers go up (at least in the short term). |

Oh I want them to grow most definately. No, I'm not dieting. I'm eating about 3600-4000 calories each day. I want to get all of the fat off of there. I want my legs to be solid rocks and I want them to look like it to. Buff is the word im lookin for. lol.
